Elizabeth Smith
Most
recently the Executive Editor of Scottsdale-based Arizona Foothills
Magazine, Elizabeth Smith began her career in media 10 years ago as a
freelance writer for national magazines including Woman’s Own, Moxie and
College Bound. After three years with AFM, Smith stepped out on her own to
launch several entrepreneurial media ventures:
As founder of Smith Media Enterprises, L.L.C, Smith serves as Publisher
and Editor of The Watch Tree, a
community-focused “online newspaper” that serves the community of
Scottsdale following The East Valley Tribune’s departure from the market.
Smith also continues to provide editorial consulting for publishers
including McMurry, Madden Media and others through her company
The Editress, L.L.C.
To expand her mastery of new media, Smith is one of a select few pursuing
a Mid-Career Master’s degree with a dual focus in Digital Media
Entrepreneurship and Business through ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of
Journalism and Mass Communication.
