Professional career

Working as an RN for most of my professional years, I specialized in emergency, school and perioperative nursing in Illinois and Arizona. After earning my master’s degree in 2006, I transitioned into the business world as the Director of Marketing and Charter Sales for a private jet aviation business that was owned and operated by my husband Scott. In March of 2009, I was presented with an opportunity to unite my passion for healthcare, fundraising and business development as an Executive Director for a nonprofit organization. I am currently an Executive Director for a Serenity Hospice Foundation in Phoenix.   I also serve as an Advisory Board Member for the ASU Art Museum.

College

I attended and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1988 from the Northern Illinois University School of Nursing earning a BSN. At NIU, I was a competitive gymnast in 1981 and the Head Cheerleading Coach from 1987-88. I met and married her college sweetheart, Scott Bolzan. Scott and I have been happily married since 1984 they have one son, Grant, age 20 and one daughter, Taylor, age 17. We reside in Gilbert, AZ.

I earned my postgraduate degree, Master’s of Science-Leadership, graduating with academic excellence from Grand Canyon University School of Business in 2006.

Embarking as a Professional Speaker

Through uninvited real life experiences, I have transformed from the supporting role of wife, mother, staff RN and marketer in her husband’s company, to the lead role in the family and family business in an instant. I have drawn on my personal values and leadership training to grab onto this challenge and move my family forward through great adversity again and again. I apply a mixture of humor and passion to motivate listeners to grasp the importance of preparing for the lead role. I will reveal how I battled through the loss of our daughter, financial challenges, our son’s drug addiction, and my husband’s recent brain injury, which has lead to his complete loss of memory. Through my entertaining and inspiring story, I will explain how I continually challenge myself to overcome and preserve through these unique and unexpected obstacles by using my insight and applying leadership skills into action steps.
