Deborah has
over three decades of experience in the financial, educational, and
philanthropic worlds. A native of Ohio, Deborah received her
Bachelor of Music Performance in Flute degree from the Indiana
University Jacobs School of Music. Before she changed careers over
15 years ago to financial planning, Deborah played flute
professionally as an orchestral musician for nearly 20 years. She is
a financial advisor with Securus Financial Group in Scottsdale,
Arizona. Currently, Deborah is a member of the 2010-2011 Dodie
Londen Excellence in Public Service Series women’s leadership
program, a FINRA arbitrator (Financial Industry Regulatory
Authority, the largest independent regulator for all securities
firms doing business in the United States), Past President of the
Phoenix Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants and
past Director of Central Phoenix Women. She is a graduate of
Leadership Akron Class XVI (16), past-president of the Fairlawn Ohio
Chamber of Commerce and the 2002 Imanuel Isroff Young Leadership
Award winner. Deborah has been published on the topics of women and
money, charitable planning, and retirement plans. She has been
quoted in local and national publications, has been a guest on Good
Morning Arizona, KJZZ‘s “Here and Now”, has presented webcasts for
major financial organizations and has spoken at national accounting
conferences. Deborah enjoys playing flute, running, golf and
knitting-- not necessarily in that order depending on the day. She
and her husband Rabbi Arthur Lavinsky just celebrated their 28th
wedding anniversary yesterday. She is the mother of two
(thankfully!) grown children. |
