Sharon Ravenscroft is a Senior Member of The Cavanagh Law Firm, P.A. with
offices in Phoenix and Sun City, Arizona. She was born and raised in
Phoenix, Arizona. Sharon received her B.A., cum laude, in 1984 from
Wellesley College and her J.D. in 1987 from the University of California,
Hastings College of the Law, where she was a law journal staff writer.
Sharon's practice focuses on helping families and business people protect
access to their assets during illness or at time of death. This is
achieved through the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney as
well as related estate planning documents.
Advising and helping businesses create their organizational documents and
handle business legal questions is also her focus. Sharon prepares and
advises on the creation of limited partnerships and limited liability
corporations ("LLCs) and corporations. She makes sure that her clients
have the proper legal framework so business is not interrupted, even if
there is an interruption in a business owner's good health.
Transferring assets at time of death through probate or trust
administration is also a part of Sharon's practice. Sharon handles both
contested and uncontested probate matters.
Sharon’s articles are published regularly in the Arizona Journal of Real
Estate and Business and Sun City Living. She has contributed articles to
the Arizona Woman magazine.
Sharon served as board member of the Estate Planning, Probate and Trust
Section of the Maricopa County Bar, from 2002 through 2005. Sharon was the
director of West Valley Women during its inaugural year in 2005. She
assists with a variety of civic organizations, such as the Soroptimist
International of Phoenix, and is a Harris Foundation contributor through
Rotary International.
Sharon is available to present seminars, free of charge, on topics such as
estate planning, living trusts and LLCs. Sharon has presented to numerous
groups such as the East Valley Society of Practicing Accountants, the
Women’s Council of Realtors, Central Arizona Association of Enrolled
Agents, Interfaith Community Care, National Association of Women Business
Owners and the Arizona Psychologists Association. She has taught
attorneys, realtors, accountants and bank officers at the Arizona School
of Real Estate and Business.
