Experience
Stella is an Audit Partner in Grant Thornton LLP’s Phoenix office, where she relocated after joining Grant
Thornton in Albuquerque. She has more than 16 years of public and corporate accounting experience. Stella
is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the states of Arizona and New Mexico. She also serves as
the West Region Representative on the firm’s WOMEN at Grant Thornton Steering Committee.

Industry experience
Stella specializes in the healthcare industry and currently serves as the Desert Cluster Healthcare Industry
Expert. She has served both publicly held and privately owned companies and has led audit engagements for
manufacturing, retail, technology and not-for-profit industries.

Before joining Grant Thornton, Stella served as the chief financial officer for a medical laboratory in
New Mexico. Significant accomplishments included negotiating construction financing ($20M project),
coordinating a legal restructure project (adding a tax-exempt entity to a taxable non-profit organization),
managing business optimization and functional realignments over the front-end and billing processes,
overseeing merger and acquisition due diligence and reviewing/ negotiating third-party payor contracts
(including capitation contracts with selected carve-out items).

Stella also has experience in the areas of strategic planning (including design, implementation and monitoring
phases), transaction workflow/process improvement, internal control structure review and design and
financial reporting.
