Best Workplaces for Women in Arizona

Arizona Woman wants to find the Best Workplaces for Women in Arizona.

Are women represented at the top of your business? Does your company offer great perks? Do you have female-friendly company culture?

Your company might make this list.

Early next year, the magazine will feature the Top 25 businesses in a cover story. The Arizona Republic and bizAZ magazine also will use some of the information gathered for this project - so it pays to be a part of it. The companies that make the list will not only receive fantastic publicity, the recognition also may be used as a great recruitment tool. Even if the company doesn't make the list, filling out the form could help you identify
weaknesses.

A nomination form is available at links.azcentral.com.
The submission deadline is Oct. 12.

The nomination application must be completed in full to be considered. Companies do not have to be woman-owned. Businesses must have a minimum of
25 full-time employees and have been established for at least three years in Arizona to be considered for the Top 25 list. Small businesses may be featured in a separate list (so go ahead and fill out the form).

Also below, please find another item that should get the buzz going… a link to view The Business Journal’s TV spot that will be running now through November 4th. phxbj.com/itscoming.wmv

As a friend of The Business Journal, we are asking you to please help spread the word!! Feel free to forward any or all of these materials on to your contact list.  CLICK HERE FOR EVITE

FACT:

Only ten Fortune 500 companies are led by female CEOs, and women still earn 77 cents for every dollar men earn in the United States, according to CNNMoney.com. Society places huge demands on women in the workplace, yet offers a confused picture of women in power.

Congratulations to

CPW Member Jane Jozoff

CPW member Jane Jozoff has been elected Chair of the Phoenix Arts and Culture Commission for a one year term. azarts.gov  Jozoff said, "We have a budget of over $30 million for Public Art. Totally the City of Phoenix spends over $52 million per year on arts grants, public art, infra-structure, bond administration, etc. for the "arts programming" which everyone enjoys. It is a privilege to be associated with the City's program."

Toxic People:

read how to get them out of your life!

In her new book, Toxic People: decontaminate difficult people at work without using weapons or duct tape, Marsha Petrie Sue challenges you to take control of every conflict situation in your life. Marsha reminds you that you can’t change Toxic People, only your own relationship with them. She will help you develop the appropriate response, not reaction to any dilemma so you can look forward to tranquil days ahead --- so put away the weapons and duct tape.

When you order Toxic People from on October 9, you will receive a bonus of “Success Ideas” from some of America’s top success experts.

Economics and Public Policy

In Richistan, All Millionaires Are Not Equal

If a million dollars sounds like a lot of money to you ... if you think "household manager" is a synonym for Mom ... if your idea of a cool set of wheels is a Mercedes-Benz convertible ... then you probably don't live in Richistan. For several years, Robert Frank, who writes "The Wealth Report," a Wall Street Journal weekly column and daily blog, has analyzed the phenomenon of the "new rich." Frank's book, "Richistan: A Journey Through the American Wealth Boom and the Lives of the New Rich" is an eye-opening, educational and at times amusing examination of what the author refers to as "the new Gilded Age."
