bio

  1. Media Matters have just released their report Gender and Ethnic Diversity in Prime Time Cable News. Looking at the breakdown of guests on cable shows in the month of May, 2008, they found: 960 white men, 76 black women, 21 Latina women, and 6 Asian women. As the Womens Media Center has been pointing out, only 2 of the 12 primetime hosts are women and none of the Sunday morning talk show hosts are women.

  2. Some Rutgers University researchers were astonished by their findings recently.  They were looking at a sample of 366 op-ed pieces written by academics in three major newspapers, and what they found  most astonishing”   was that almost all of the opinions came from men: 97 percent in The Wall Street Journal, 82 percent in The New York Times, and 78 percent in the Newark Star Ledger.

FRom CPW Member Debbi Lavinsky:

"I thought you would be interested in learning more about FDIC and SIPC. I have received many questions over the past few weeks about these two types of account protection."
